our visit this time was just as delicious and beautiful.
so, here's the thing with rombauer, they're not like other tasting rooms and are actually very hands off. rather than standing at a bar hearing about the individual beauty of each wine and exactly what to pair it with, you kind of go collect your tastings inside then enjoy them from the winery porch while you take in the beauty of napa valley. it's not too bad.
here is your guide in photos. eric's photos.
step one: collect your tastings from the tasting room and find the perfect porch-side table.
step two: recruit a handsome wine sommelier, or at least somebody who is willing to read the menu of wines to you while you taste. it's best if he reads the summaries in a slight british accent.
(again, the rombauer employees are not going to tell you much about them.)
step three: find a really babe couple to share the experience with. take their photo.
step four: bust out a trader joe's picnic and enjoy it in the garden. you should have at least 6 different cheeses. (p.s. this is my mosted "liked" instagram of all time. i can't quite figure out why other than people must really like cheese and bread, it which case, you'd fit right in at this table.)
step five: nap-a in the car while your handsome drives you home.
step six: wake up and take some photo booth pics of yourself with your phone.
-----
it was the perfect sunday afternoon and i would highly recommend you hightail it to napa and/or sonoma to take in the beauty of northern california wine tasting.
we maaay or may not have spent some time pretending that we were the owners of this porch.
you'd do the same.
